Most books on joseki list endless variations, leaving it up to the readers to fend for themselves in applying these josekis to their games. Players often come out of the opening with a clear lead, only to see it dwindle away in the endgame.

Instead of memorizing variations, your attention is focused on an important joseki move or idea. Proper attention is given to how to play once a joseki is finished.
